Our Story

K9Port started where all good software should start: with a real problem that needed solving.

We run Boston Dogtor, a busy dog daycare and boarding facility. Every day brought the same challenges: keeping track of dozens of dogs, remembering each one's quirks, making sure no one missed a potty break, and somehow finding time to send invoices while managing a growing team.

We tried every kennel software on the market. Some were designed for veterinarians (too clinical). Others were glorified calendars (too simple). None of them actually understood how a kennel operates day-to-day.

So we built our own. What started as a simple internal tool has evolved through 67+ versions into the comprehensive platform you see today. We've been using it exclusively at Boston Dogtor for over 6 months, managing 250+ client dogs.

Why We Built "The Brain"

The idea for The Brain came from a simple observation: our best staff members had an almost supernatural ability to know when a dog needed attention. They'd developed mental models of each dog's patterns over months of experience.

But that knowledge lived only in their heads. When they weren't working, the rest of the team was flying blind.

We wondered: what if the software could track those patterns too? What if it could calculate when a dog needed a potty break before an accident happened?
